Have to go for a work thing to New Orleans so decided to make a trip outta it, bought a ticket for the wife.

This is my rough plan -havent booked anything except international flights. We have 2 weeks inclusing the international flights.

-Land Miami -Was the cheapest at the time
-2 nights in Miami- One day probably to recover
-Miami to New Orleans- Sprint- 5 days in New Orleans for the work event
-After that was thinking of flying to Orlando-Sprint
-3 nights in Orlando Disney- May skip the typical Universal/ Disney Park thing cz with the rand as it is- like will cost us over R7k a day just for park entry- but they have some free disney and universal themed areas. Orlando Disney accom is not bad- found a place for R2k a night that is a Disney hotel.
-Then train to Palm Beach
-Then a 2 night cruise to the Bahamas on Margarhetaville at Sea
-Train it back from Palm Beach beach to MIA to depart.

I dont know if this will work? Maybe too complicated of an itenary? Would be nice to do shopping on Amazon and Ebay and then just deliver to the hotel but lugging bags around may expensive on the low cost airlines.

Sounds good. For Miami, I suggest staying in Coconut Grove or Brickell. Personally, I couldn't think of anything worse than the Disney experience - I would rather visit a big city like New York or Chicago for a real experience. I've been to Orlando a bunch of times for cruises (Port Canaveral is nearby), and usually just stay near the hotel. Not sure on your time constraints, but perhaps also consider a week-long cruise - these can be a super cheap holiday, since that seems to be a concern (get an "inside/interior" cabin, since you will likely be roaming the ship all day anyway, and all food is covered).

First time visiting and with no kids?
I might skip Orlando and do NYC, I mean you gotta do New York surely. Unless you've got your heart set on the cruise which is fine as well.
Look all this depends on you guys and I find these types of things pretty personal. So me for example, I'm not a fan of packing then unpacking then waiting at airports kinda guy. Europe is different, there I'd say you can do a bunch of cities in a short space of time. But the US, I'd do two major cities per trip, maybe 3 if where I land plays a role.

If you going to Orlando and not going to the theme parks maybe skip this leg and do something else.

With the missus.....I'd dump the cruise & fly to Vegas instead
