USB flash drive with write protect switch

As far as I am concerned, the hardware switch is the safest way to go. I am not prepared to compromise my clients data in any way (especially financial data), and though the permissions method may work, there is always the what if.....

and the NTFS and permissions method is not suitable because...
 
How much effort are you willing todo?

If the data on the disk is static, and its used just for installations, then you can modify your flashdisk to be a usb cdrom, and write an image to it.
 
I bit the bullet and ordered a Kanguru FlashBlu30 from Raru.

The files change often as updates come out all the time. The switch makes it so much easier to unlock and add data as needed and then re-lock.
