So i've seen Divx certified dvd players that come with either a USB Host or USB Plus port -whats the difference between em ? Does this actually mean that if you have a bunch on divx movies on an external drive, they will play via usb or is the usb port mostly for pics and mp3's ?

No idea what "USB Plus" is. Possibly a proprietary name for a USB host port?

The USB host port means that it can pull files off of a USB drive, music, pictures, video, whatever.

I think that some of these USB plus devices allow recording from the machine as well - could be wrong though.

Usb plus is just usb 2(hi speed),meaning that they are geared to play movies.Older machines will only say usb, meaning its usb1.1
