USB hub related question.

My notebook has 2 USB inputs, I am planning on getting a 4 mini USB hub.
If I plug the hub in, can I plug my USB mouse into it, my external 2.5 HDD and a card reader? Will I experience any problems using it that way? The mouse and ex HDD will work at the same time on the hub.

In today's world everthing is going USB. I am just running out of inputs.

They'll all work on the hub at the same time (they SHOULD, if they dont, something is b0rked). A hub with an external power source would be the best way to go. Last thing you would want to do is damage your notebooks board by sucking too much power through the root hub.
 
127 devices can be connected to one usb port, or is it 128? In theory anyway
 
all should be able to connect ... but I think u may get issues with power ... as a usb port itself can only provide a small amount of power
