Hi guys,

Was wondering if any of you have tried using a USB hub (usb powered and/or AC powered) to connect/plug multiple hard drives for the samsung integrated media player to pick it up.

Would be kinda neat if it does work. I tried a el'cheapo 'sahara' usb powered - and did not work... so wondering if its just the cheap usb hub which failed to make it work... or if anyone has had experiences with this.

Thanks :-)

I have attached a Mecer 4-port USB hub to my Samsung plasma and it works quite well. I've attached two external laptop drives and sometimes a memory stick as well and it picks up all the devices. I've tested it with all the ports occupied and it worked quite well. The only issue I have is that I cannot copy between the attached devices (or folders) like I used to on my old media player.
One other thing that it is quite irritating, is that it does not continue playing from the point that I stopped the movie at. So it has to start all over again.

Thanks magandroid.... any ideas where I can get a mecer usb hub?

Secondly.... off topic... or another topic actually in total...
I got that Samsung LA40D550 in the lounge, but want another LCD/Plasma in bedroom...
So, thinking of leaving HDPVR + PS3/Xbox + Bluray player in lounge too... but transmit HDMI signals to whatever i decide on buying, wireless to bedroom.

Now, the only wireless transmitter I know of transmits standard AV signals in RCA.... Any ideas/Thoughts on trasmitting 1080p signals... capable of transmitting 3D picture (seeing I want to look at having a 3D panel on the wall in bedroom).

@Postmanpot ... Any thoughts on a 42/43 to 50" Plasma/LCD for under 10k? (which is ok quality... preferably 1080p with a good refresh rate) I know the plasmas go up to between 600 to 800hz where the LCD's/LED's range from 50 to 200hz.. I just want a good experience, but cannot afford to spend above 10k... so reckon I need some 'out-of-the-box' thinking to get this done!

Does the Tv have wireless receiving? Can you not get a gigabit wireless/4 port router, and connect via that option? I have such router, and am planning on connecting wirelessly to Tv, so if it doesn't have wireless, then i'm pomped. Does your tv have network connection? Cat5/6? maybe that would work? connecting to network...

My current one in the lounge has wireless. so does the ps3,xbox and samsung bluray HT system.
The one for my bedroom - I have not purchased yet... hence @postmanpot ;-) wanted to get some good advice from him seeing he seems quite knowledgeable on the topic... but by all means... anyone, feel free to comment and/or advise

As for Cat5/6... I'm really not keen to pull a wire from the lounge to the bedroom. my current router is that DGN2000 or was it DGN2200... in any case, it's 802.11n.. thats just for network purposes and media sharing.. but thinking of the actual media being played on the bluray/HDPVR that I want to transmit in 1080i/1080p
