USB Killer V3 released

USB Kill has introduced its latest ESD tester, the USB Kill V3.

The new USB killer is available as a plain black Anonymous Edition or a White Classic edition.

“Penetration testers, security auditors, and hardware developers will find the USB Kill V3 invaluable in their toolkit.”
So mostly hardware companies of which there are few.

Doubt how this will benefit a penetration tester or a security auditor either the USB drive works under high voltage or it doesn't.

So essentially this should be a tool for hardware manufacturers to establish rating standard of sorts rather than a tool for consumers.

Can honestly not see a legitimate market for this. Hardware manufacturers have their own standards testing tools.

Pretty useless to a pentester. Once used then you won't be able to access the machine!

50 Euros! What a rip. Buy a 400V 120F supercapacitor for a few bucks. Charge it up - zap usb port.

What's the point for a pentester/ auditor?
