USB Memory Stick stopped working

Howzit

So my Verbatim memory stick stopped working. My PC just fails to recognize it saying it has malfunctioned.

Can anyone advise how I could perhaps fix it from my PC and recover the files?

Nope doesnt work on any PC. The USB is still in tact. Receipt long thrown away.

The thing is the makes a sound when I put it in, but nothing shows up

Sorry man, not a rare occurrence with flash drives and it's good to always keep copies of important files elsewhere . Maybe try Recuva and see if it helps

but if you dont even see it being picked up its toast;

try southbit, no recovery no pay;
If I remember correctly when they didnt recover my HDD, paid R450 or so for them to examine it;

and the courier costs for it to go up and down; to CPT;

Thanks for the help guys. None of self recovery sites helped. Ended up ordering a new one from Takealot, not worth the expense.

if the data worth that much, id hang on to the new one you brought and try send to southbit and see if they can get anything off it;

you can then ask them to copy over data to your new one;
