whenever i plug my flashdrive or mp4 into my usb hub it tells me that the device can work faster in a 2.0 usb port and then gives me a list of ports. what on earth does this mean and what must i do. i can carry on as normal with downloading and stuff but i just want to know what this mean.

If your mother board supports USB 2.0, then you should install your USB 2.0 drivers as USB 2.0 is a lot faster.

ok how do i know that my motherboard supports it and if it does do i download the drivers off the internet or what?

Just insert the cd that came with your computer (it should say something about being mother board drivers on it) and try installing something that says "USB drivers" or something like that.

If this doesn't work, make sure that your mp4 and flashdrive are USB 2.0 compatible, and if they are then maybe try another usb port on your computer.

gee i dont know i could have had it for a year now maybe longer. its not like the usb port is affecting it in any way i just wondered why it keeps saying that when i plug it in.

Windows should do it all for you, provided you're running Windows XP Service Pack 1 or above (including Vista)

Right click My Computer -> Properties -> Hardware tab -> Device Manager -> Scroll down to see if Enhanced USB is installed. If it isn't, try "Re-install driver" or something to that effect. If it goes through, then for some reason, the driver was just being held back. If not, then something else is wrong -> has the computer always done it? Are you plugging the flash into the front USB ports or the back?

ok will give it a go. no i have 2 usb hubs so i have my flashdrive and mp4 plugged into one of the hubs, maybe i should plug it straight into the back of my machine and see what it says.

last thing on the list says universal serial bus controllers.
