USB to Ethernet Adapter Uses?

What do these things get used for (practically)
Ethernet over USB is pretty crappy performance (high CPU usage).

So I'm wondering what people are using them for mostly,
Besides laptop with dead ethernet port?
(can't be that common)

Never tried it, but I think you can use it with a psp.

Broken port or anytime you need more than 1 nic (pretty common depending on line of work). I have an old laptop at home with USB and no ethernet, could work there. Few years ago I had an old Pentium box, again USB, I had to use an ISA 10mbit nic because that was the only free slot. Some driver issue on your brand new HP server.
