I would hold onto them, if they are in immaculate condition you are sitting on a gold-mine, many audiophiles are building tube amp systems(100% analogue systems) and will pay top dollar especially for the Beatles catalogues...

I would buy them from you but don't have a turntable :(

you know that beatles collection i have, you would be surprised, they are in mint condition and they are all nice and neat in a wood box. i think i paid something like R40. for the whole set at a pawn shop that was going out of business. i spent around R100 for a bunch of old lps at that shop that day.

You are making me want to cry :(

I have the Beatles best albums(psychedelic period) on CD... Sgt pepper, White album, Revolver, magical mystery. they are Priceless as an LP because they were meant to be played as a record.

I would seriously consider buying them but I wont be able to listen to them the way I would like with a proper Hi-Fidelity non-transistor system. I recommend you store them in a safe place because they are extremely valuable and can go for thousands on eBay.

Now if they are UK pressed and not locally then you are seriously lucky.

Edit:
See what I mean...

Sorry for hijacking your thread but I've just bought an old Sony turntable and it came without a cartridge (at least I think it's called a cartridge, I thought it was called a stylus but I've since learned the stylus is just the needle part).

Can anyone tell me if this one will work?

The turntable I have is missing the 'head' on the end of the arm. There's a round hole on the end of the arm and I see four connectors inside the hole.

Which model turntable? It probably will work.

You would do a load cheaper by simply auxing an existing turntable at home or someplace via stereo input on pc...

Use audio software like Adobe Audition to edit the tracks into seperate mp3/wav files...

You can also edit out major pops and crackles with Audition...

I purchased this one a while back:
Audio Technica

It was a breeze to setup, but I battled with the Cakewalk software that came with it - I couldn't adjust the recording level - so I downloaded some demo shareware that did the trick, but oh so simple, USB to PC, cable to sound card and great fun recording and taking out the odd hiss but you can still hear the needle - has that special sound to it:)
It was flippin awesome hearing all my pink floyd collection from 20 odd years ago - my kids think im a tad loony!

Yes it will work but you first need the headshell. The cartridge(your link) plug into the headshell.

Hi Guys,

saw this thread and thought I'd give some input.

We've sold a couple of hundred of the ION USB Turntables and to date, we haven't had any problems with customers and the recording quality they have obtained.

Here are the top selling ones...

Thanks.

i checked them out and they are u.k. pressed. the only thing that sucks is that the cover of yesterday and today is not the one of them in butchers coats with chopped dolls around them.
and yeah after checking your link out i guess i will hold on to them a bit longer.
