Hi all

I am currently looking for a used car. Hope you guys can help.

My heart is set on the Kia Soul, but before I take the leap, I need your guys opinion.
I know it looks unique and might not appeal to everyone, but my heart is leaning towards it.
So what are your guys opinions on the Soul.

Other options are Kia Cerato, Honda Jazz/Ballade/Civic.

My main concern when purchasing these cars is maintenance and parts cost.

Requirements: Auto Box (Cause I'm lazy), >70kW , boot space

Good choice of car based on your requirements. It's quite an attractive sight on the road but you should be looking at the service costs, fuel economy, resale value and parts availability. That is where most will turn their heads to the Corolla, Polo or the Ford Figo. Personally, if you not putting lots of mileage in your trips, I would go with the Kia.

I know Toyota all the way. But for some reason I just don't like the Corollas cars design.
The Auris looks amazing though, I will add that to my options.
Anything VW not being considered
Regarding the "service costs, fuel economy, resale value and parts availability" this is where I was hoping I would get input from the mybb team.
Just done a service on my wifes 2006 Clio which came to R 2000, and work not done is quoted at R 12 000

Unique? No, it's just ugly. But if you like it go for it, the only downside will be that you might battle to sell it one day, because it's ugly. I'm pretty sure they're not much of a hijack risk. :)

you can buy my car, I am actually at a cross roads, sell or keep, been pondering on it for the last 3 months or so. Hyundai i20.

but i actually like the soul to be honest.

The only downer about the Soul and the Jazz is the boot space.
