Looking for used lens for my canon. I don't like the swapping between the kit lens 18-55mm to 55-250mm.

What would be the best option also I don't want to break the bank?

Any reason not to use cameraworld.co.za?

Fungus in the lens? Don't touch it with a barge pole.

It will only get worse.

Unless you'll be shooting birds. Up to 135mm is fine and if you'd do research you'd find out it's the sharpest of the lot.

I bought a two lens entry level combo years ago, cheap flash on Amazon and my daughter and I take photos of the birds in the garden.

Take enough, and some of the photos turn out good.
Funny thing is half the time I just my phone because it's 10x easier and doesn't require editing

Ok cameraworld.co.za out of stock

Any one used sacameraland.com or luckytechcameras.com?

I read scameraland.com (insert smiley emoji here)

It doesn't answer your question, but I've always used "https://www.dpreview.com/" to check out reviews before buying.
Get a 70-200mm f2.8 and you should be sorted.
Hey there. Did you ever get any feedback on LuckyTech.com cameras? They have a good second hand I am interested in but can't work out if they legit or a scam? Hard to know is this Orwellian Trump times...

That's not the way fungus works, fungus spores are present in all lenses even brand new lenses, if you store a lens in damp/humid dark conditions fungus will grow whether the lens previously had fungus or not. But if you store a lens correctly in a dry environment and ideally regularly expose the lens to sunlight you will never have issues with fungus whether it previously had fungus or not.

I've checked out the website before and everything seems to check out but the given address is in a very "gritty" part of JHB - 137 Main St, Marshalltown, Johannesburg - I wouldn't be surprised if they sell a fair amount of stolen goods. The shop shows as being there according to the 2020 Google streetview capture.

Ordered a Canon 300mm f/4 L off Cameraworld that's arriving tomorrow just in time for a bit of footie.

Slots in nicely.

I know it is your livelihood, but how many houses are those lens worth?
Yeah - the 2.8's are a little spendy. Orms has the current models listed at R49,895.00 for the 70-200 and R254,395.00 for the 400mm.

For what it's worth a replacement lens hood for the 400mm is R18,600.00...

The f/4s are cheap though so I can leave the expensive stuff at home and don't have to worry about insuring them full time. I think I paid R5k for the 70-200 f/4 and the 300mm came in under R7k.
