btw, dont buy from Kameraz, it has been liquidated but they havent taken down the website but i would NOT recommend anyone buy anything on the website...you will just lose money.

I’d also avoid buying lenses with fungus in them but that's just because you logically don't want a lens with compromised optics but the spores risk is bs because fungus spores are inside all lenses at all times, there's nothing you can do to prevent that. Spores inside a lens only becomes an issue if you store the lens in humid dark conditions which will allow them to germinate, so just store your lenses safely and ideally in a dry box with desiccant packs.

true, if anyone is interested, A nice and easy alternative to a dehumidifier cabinet is to get a airtight storage box (with a washer) and through in a dozen or 2 desiccant packs.

That one is a bit too big but I use the smaller versions and they work well.
You want the smallest box that can fit your gear in to minimise the amount of included air so that your desiccant packs last as long as possible. Silicone cat litter also works great as a desiccant but it must first be dried in an oven/air fryer at I think it was 140 degrees for an hour.
 
I just use a Pelican 1510 and a knock off pelican. Airtight seal and portable.
 
Used an Addis storage box and placed weather strip around the edge for printer filament. It works well.

Have not bothered with the lenses at the moment - Gauteng does not have a big humidity problem for lenses.

Just be careful with desiccant from Temu, I was also going to order from there but I did some research and the Chinese brand stuff apparently can often use some very unhealthy chemicals in them. The cat litter option is cheap and cheerful and endlessly reusable, I have some 10 x 10cm cloth bags that I put it in to and then tie off the bag so it can't leak the contents.

Thanks - I'm going to build a some storage compartments inside the knockoff, for my extra bodies and lenses, this weekend. I'll leave a space for a sock.

Yes I didn't think of that, a sock is perfect as a desiccant holder.
I used this cat litter to make mine, it must be dried in an oven before use:

Just need to find a space for it. Here's where I see the b team layout going. Stuff I still use but only occasionally.

It won't be moving around much so I'm going to subdivide it with corrugated plastic.

I also use a Pelican case for the excess kit, if you don't need to move the case as in lift it by the handle just leave everything as it is.
Check on Temu if they have Peli case dividers, I think I may have seen them there, they sell the knock off cases and replacement pluckable foam

I want to store it vertically so I need dividers. I've got a load of plastic left over from the last time I did this.

I don't see any dividers on Temu.

By corrugated plastic you mean that stuff they use for temporary signage?

No - I clip them together. That way I can move the dividers to fit different bit of equipment.

This is the one I did a while back. I lined both sides with self-adhesive neoprene but I don't think I need to bother with that this time.

this is brilliant, I suppose you could use corrugated cardboard too, the challenge will be fixing it in place
