Hi guys

Im in the market for a used SUV. This is going to be my first car purchase. Ive just returned from working abroad for a couple years.

Right now I'm looking at a VW Tiguan. This one in particular: http://www.autotrader.co.za/used-ca...end&fun--fpa-a6f02f666cbd431ca60ae2d92ac6a50b

Budget is around the R220k mark. I intend on doing long distance trips around SA over the next year and some very light off-road/Dirt road driving.

Im after an SUV as i have a lot of photographic equipment and hiking gear that will come with me.

Any advice on wether to go used petrol or diesel?

Any other car recommendations?

Thanks
Evan

I'm also considering for similar reasons + 1 have 2 small kids.
Currently undecided between double cab something or a station wagon\SUV with a roof pod....

KUGA 1.6L ecoboost, they having a FIRESALE on them !

Maybe look at IX35 CRDI also, the petrol IX35 is very thirsty!

Same reason I got my Captiva.

Honestly I'd try get a 2.0 turbodiesel SUV ... my boss has the 2.0D Ford Kuga and that thing pulls like you won't believe. By comparison, the 1.6 turbopetrols I've driven are pretty meh: it's a lot of car for not that much engine. The torque in a strong diesel just puts a smile on your face, even if 2.0D isn't going to be scaring any hot hatch drivers.
