Useless Local Cap

if your not mentally handicapped, you can figure out what to do with your local only.... -hint- search button...

sorry please explain

so now what do u mean linux is a good way?

how do u use linux to spend ur local bandwidth?

coz it would be so much nicer to use up local bandwidth! since by the way we are paying for it!

Local bandwidth is not useless, however it's nothing near international bandwidth. If you can figure out how to use it effectively (and for purposes that you need) then great, otherwise why bother?! The linux comment refers to using you local bandwidth to download ISOs from local mirrors of, for example, Ubuntu. But if you don't need linux ISO's then there's no point ;)

Besides, if you are with TelkomInternet the 10GB free local after cap is "free" anyway since it is on promotion, so in a way you aren't paying for it so why feel bad about not using it

I know this is a noob question... but its better than wondering.
If i use "sudo apt-get" in Ubuntu to update/install programs. Does it automatically download from a local mirror? Or if not, how do i set it to do that?

Administrator\Software sources\
There u will see all kinds of things. There is a drop down that Download from. There u set it to the SA server.
And always there are a lot of Linux distro out there so try and see what works best for u. Linux mint is pretty cool. Also get Ubuntu then install the different Desktops for it. Run them in a virtual box or install them like an application in windows. When u bored go play around and when u get stuck go back to windows till u can think of a way.

http://www.brothersoft.com/ And this place also to eat up your local cap.Everything on there server u can get.

By no means am I a linux guru I am a newbie just like u lot. ;)
If u get stuck go ask the question.

Something like games.saix.net or ftp.games.saix.net has a few demos, mods, add-ons, etc.

i used to download skateboarding videos using mirc. there was this wierd channel you went to and you could signal to these bot/server things to send you files/videos.

They should make a local version of that
