Usenet with local usage?

Greetings all,

I would like to know if u can use usenet with local usage. I read up somewhere that if u downlod "grabit" and use a local server like, "news.saix.net", then u can download using local useage.

I tried that but the server is always busy. If that is possible, are there any other local servers/newsgroups.
