Username & Password

Has anybody experienced a situation, where the router login username/password doesnt want to work?

I have left the username as admin and password on the netgear router, but now i cant log in. I know i can factory reset, but what might have happened here?

I'm assuming you are trying the default username and password?
Usually it's me that has forgotten the right combination, or I'm trying to log into the wrong device.
Google the device just to check what the default is. Some of them use admin/admin or admin/1234 instead of admin/password.
If you are convinced that it is the right device and you've tried the default combination, then just do a reset.
No point in wasting time.

Yeh its admin and password. Thats the default username and password. I didnt change that, but it wont let me in. So reset it will have to be.

You sure you have the right box? I've been suckered like that more than once. As a precaution, connect to it directly via LAN with nothing else connected to it.

i agree with Soul, both my TP-link and old billion w40 routers are case sensitive.

Ive reset it, but now im having a solid red light issue. The internet indicator on the Netgear router is solid red. Credentials from isp is correct, and ive rebooted. Eish, has abybody experienced this, and im hoping its not a line issue again.

Either your modem is broken or it's a line issue.

Yep, but think its coming back to life now

Yep phone is fine, dial tone is fine. Its seems to be sorting itself out now. What ever the factory reset did, must have done something to the connection somewhere
