Anyone out there using cellphone banking on their BB Storm? Specifically, I want to know if your Absa internet banking (via Vodata) works OK and on what version of the Storm's firmware.

Have you tried the following so long - unrelated to the banking application ...

The setup appears to differ for the BOLD and Curve respectively

- On the Curve, dial *111# and follow onscreen instructions,
select WIG Download..

- On the BOLD also dial *111#, however it would prompt him to contact 111 to get the app downloaded onto the device

Thanks, your help is appreciated.

Try the following ...

*111# , then choose option 5 , it will tell you to dial *141*777# and provided your sim (at least 32k that you using) has been provisioned for WIG by the call centre , then it should work.

I've not tried it personally as I need to have WIG activated on my number to confirm if this works.

Hi fismail, thanks for the help. I had Vodata on my SIM before getting the Storm. The Absa cellphone banking application on it worked just fine, firmware version .78 was on the Storm then. However, when I upgraded to version .122 to fix the camera problem, I started getting problems entering account numbers and access codes. I deleted and reinstalled Vodata on my SIM in an attempt to solve my problem.

On version .78, I could press anywhere on the active screen and the keyboard would pop up allowing me to first key in my account number. Similar for the access code. However, with version .122 this did not work anymore. I had to be very precise with pressing the number field, which is only one character wide. My success rate with this was less than 25%.

Lately, my success rate increased to nearly 100% if I turned my input finger (usually the thumb) 90 degrees before pressing the number field, as the field is slightly taller than it is wide. So I can now use cellphone banking successfully, but the ideal would still be to press anywhere on the active screen to get the keyboard to pop up.

Does all this make sense? By the way, the BB (menu) key does not work in Vodata.

Does'nt make non-SENSE , do me a favour and PM me your number , I want to look at something w.r.t WIG on your number.

Thanks, sent you a PM. I suppose my posting will not make sense unless you use a Storm yourself!
