Ok. Two questions:

How do you use it on your PC? Via internet explorer or through outlook on your PC? The setup is quite easy...I just need to know that piece of information.

You can do both. I prefer via the browser because the web interface got more features i use (i.e The way messages are grouped/displayed/labeled, Google Calendar,Google Talk etc). Via web also makes you PC/OS neutral and independent of any specific product on your PC [i.e. outlook] . It means i can work on any pc/os/network and not have to set up anything in outlook etc.

Gmail does have IMAP support, so you can technically combine both, using Outlook on your personal PC and web on any other PC . I prefer IMAP over POP3 because if you DO use the web interface somewhere and use POP3 on 1 PC, you tend to run into all kinds of sync issues.

On your mobile device, i suggest you get Gmail Mobile [www.gmail.com/app ] . I wouldn't bother with the built-in/outlook version on your PDA , the google app is much faster and easier to use . OF course depends on waht you want to do, and again i would use IMAP if i use any other mail software as then you don't need to sync mail.

I've used Gmail on various built-in email clients on different phones. What I noticed on all is that if you download any emails and they get archived, the next time you do a "send/receive" the archived emails are deleted and only the new emails appear in the inbox. This happens on all the Windows Mobile and Symbian phones I've used. Is there a way to keep the emails in the inbox without having to copy it to another folder?

BTW I mostly access Gmail using Opera Mini, it works great.
