Hey..

Does anyone know how to get your school email working on outlook?

For example, UCT uses Groupwise... so the email would be [email protected] but the thing is I can't sign it up like how I signed up my gmail..

if anyone can help, that would be great!

Have a look for Outlook Connector for Groupwise. You can't use it without that if the POA does not support IMAP/POP

Server name: ngwnameserver
Port: 1677

Do you have the server details for UCT?
i.e The incoming and outgoing server properties fro your mail to send and receive?

I see.. am I will find this on the microsoft website?

Well I tried google-ing, but it didn't work too well.. All they gave me was the groupwise 7, saying that outlook 2007 wasn't compatible.. sigh..

WTF anybody would want to use outlook is beyond me...
or uni emails...

What's wrong with outlook?

Microsoft... ;)

On a serious note I personally don't like outlook storing all files in one pst folder which often becomes corrupt. Why don't you just forward your uni mail to a gmail account if it allows you? Then pop off the gmail account. Then you will have your mail in outlook and the gmail account :) redundancy :)

uctgwia.uct.ac.za for incoming.

and then you have to use your isp smtp server for outgoing.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, but then some emails doesn't want to do that.. And because when the UCT email gets low on space, it deletes it. But most of them are my marks which I would like to keep..

but anyway.. thanks..

Is everybody missing the point that he is using a groupwise server/client? (Which is probably not the same as the CS departments pop/imap server but hopefully I'm wrong)
