Like no hidden costs, same amount of bandwith etc.
Just want to make sure of this. Just feels weird using CellC on a Vodacom network.

It's possible to pay CellC Prices but use the vodacom Network?

If that's true, please tell us how, I'd love to buy a CellC Bundle (the 2GB per month for R999 once off special)

I had cell-c on an iPhone, sometimes it would switch to Vodacom, and then my data wouldn't work at all.

My download speeds are fluctuating a lot although my connection seems to be stable (connected for 8 hours).

Getting anywhere from 10-28kb/s
Although it averages mostly at 15-20kb/s

Remember we only have 2G here. Doubt it'll work on a Vodacom 3G network.

Not sure what the purpose of this thread is but....

Cell C will roam on VC but only at GPRS/EDGE data speeds. So, you buy the bundle but can only use it at sloooooow speeds, rather wait for Cell C 4Gs coverage in your area.

The problem is that we stay in the rural areas like my village Aberdeen eastern cape

We have been using edge now for years and likely still for some time to come, so if we can get this promo and 24gigs for that price I will drive tommorow 300km and buy the modem.

So will it work or not dont care about the speed for that price

True, although you don't have to drive, I bought mine from Game and they shipped it to me. Was a bit expensive though (R225). Although they did give an option to send it to another brance for free. So you could buy it from PE and pick it up somewhere else if needed. Don't know if other stores offer similar services.

Must say that I had terrible speeds today and a period where I couldn't receive/send any data. This might be related to the Vodacom data center downtime event so it might just of been a temporary thing.

hi
i got the bundle last week from pe...i work in pe and live in uitenhage.....at work its great but at home it can be quite frustrating sometimes....thinking im gonna get some vodacom airtime just to use at home in the meanwhile(cell c have indicated that uitenhage will be covered in about a month or so)....still works out much cheaper..

Seems to be back to normal for now. Hitting solid 25kb/s download speeds. Also surprisingly stable, doesn't dc at all.

Hi HideInLight

There are no hidden costs. There are no added costs to you the consumer either. Same price whether you're roaming or on the Cell C network.
The only difference will be that the connection will be limited to EDGE.

I am currently in East London and CELL C connection is intermittent, could be my location, because last time I was here I had the same problems with Vodacom. Last night I had good connection speeds but now I am connected to "EDGE VODA CELL C (Roaming)"

Yes. I only have edge available where I live and I'm connected via CellC on the Vodacom Roaming network.

Where are you, I am trying to find out what reception is like in Dorchester Heights ?
