Hi all,

I've got a Lenovo X300 with embedded Sierra Wireless 3G/HSDPA modem. The Lenovo comes with their own brand of software called "Lenovo Mobile Broadband Connect". When I install VMC it doesn't work, in fact all kinds of weird things happened I'd prefer to forget (many reboots later - did you known VMC won't uninstall in Safe Mode!) ...

The problem is the Lenovo software doesn't allow you to set the APN.

Thanks, had a look but Vodacom isn't listed. I see now I have a MC8775.

No luck. You have to choose a product and it's not listed.

What version of VMC are you trying to install?

9.3.0.9237

I assumed the latest version would be best!?

It did install but my PC wouldn't boot properly. To be honest can't recall exactly what happened as I was to stressed by the breakdown ... but it didn't work.

I tried to UNinstall it in safe mode. VMC won't uninstall in safe mode, can you believe it!

[-]Maybe that built-in module isn't supported by VMC.[/-] I stand corrected, it is supported.

Are you sure the Lenovo Software wont allow you change the APN? I find that quite weird. You should be able to create a new profile at least.

One other method you could try is to create the connection manually through Windows, but you would have to set the APN manually as well.
