Using vodacom sim in mtn e220 modem

It should just work as long as the sim is data activated. Use the internet apn, although it may already be set to use that as MTN has the same apn.

I did it the other way around (MTN sim in a Vodafone E220) and found the way to get it to work is to use the generic Hauwei app (http://www.huawei.com/mobileweb/en/doc/list.do?type=-1&id=736) as the dialer. Running that file will flash your E220, which may not be the effect you want. Perhaps try to extract the dialer app from the .iso in the archive and run that with the E220 plugged in.
It should detect the network based on the sim card you have in the E220 and connect you.

It should work either way: MTN Sim in Vodacom card, and Vodacom Sim in MTN card. I have done it both ways. Check that your APN is internet - MTN sometimes uses alternate APNs. It is easy to set up a new profile for Vodacom on the MTN F@stlink software.
