I currently have a Blackberry on a TopUp 135 contract with free BIS. I'm getting an iPhone this coming week (as soon as a Vodashop in JHB has stock) but I'd still like to keep my Blackberry just for Blackberry Messenger.

As far as I know Twincall should be able to do this, but which SIM should be the Primary and Secondary one, and will I receive all my calls on the phone that's on?

AFAIK DataSIM allows you to get 2 extra SIMs on your voice contract: one for a 3G USB stick and the other for a BlackBerry. This means that the BB won't be able to make calls, if I'm correct.

BB will have to be your primary, IPhone secondary, if you on a BB you won't be able to activate the iPhone APN.

Or activate the BB on data sim 2.

The master sim must be in the blackberry... when it comes to twin call.

However, I don't think twin call is available to topup contracts.

Not sure if you can do data sims on topup either. As far as I know without checking you cannot.

Best option then is a prepaid sim for the blackberry, or a seperate post paid sim (contract) which is not that expensive these days unless you are using huge data.

I'll find out about it, but I wont be using huge amounts of data so its getting a prepaid SIM is an option.

The only reason I'd like to do Twincall is because my BIS service would be wasted if I don't keep a SIM in the Blackberry

This would be the correct solution. You ask for a Data Sim (MUST be the Blackberry one)...remember to make sure the consultant understands this and activates the correct one. That sim will then go into your Blackberry phone..but cant be used for voice calls. ONLY BB services like email and BBM. There is a once off acivation fee of R97 and then a monthly subscription of about R9.00 per month. Both your main sim and your BB sim can be used at the same time.

So even if my Blackberry Internet Service is bundled free into my contract, I can get it on a data SIM at no additional cost? (beside the R9.00 pm and activation fee)

Just checked with Vodacom, neither Data SIM nor Twincall are available on TopUp contracts.
I'll just have to get another SIM for the Blackberry

Hi booya30

Due to the fact that you are on the Top-up tariff plan you won't be able to get the data or twincall sim. Prepaid will be your only option.
