Using your iPhone as a wireless headset [SOLVED]

Greetings!

Any of you guys come across an app that let's you use your iPhone as a wireless headset? I mainly want to use it to watch movies.

The 2 that I have come across, Airfoil and Speakers, both have a lag. This is fine if you are just listening to music, but a bit of a wind up if you're trying to watch a movie.

Compensate for the lag in VLC player?

Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but I use AirVideo to stream videos to my phone.

i am looking for an app that lets me use my iphone as a remote control

If you're looking for an app to control your tv and DVD player then u ain't gonna find one.. There's no infared on the iPad. If however, you're looking for an app to remote control your pc then try logmein and also pocketcloud..

I also use Mobile Mouse Pro. It lets you use the accelerometer you move the mouse around. Imagine you had a WII remote as a mouse - same principle. It also has various function screens you can use depending on the screen you are using. Like media buttons if you are in Media Player.

If you want something free that just turns your iPhone into a touch pad (like a laptop mouse) try TouchMouse by Logitech.

With both you will need to install an app on your PC.

I want to watch a movie/video on my HTPC and listen to the audio on my iPhone - like a wireless headset.

I'll check out AirVideo for those times I want to lie in bed and watch something. I've used VLC player to stream to my phone, but I didn't find it great.

Remote control for TV without IR port

Remote control for TV, DVD, etc....
Little device that plugs into the audio port of the phone which converts the audio to IR signals.

[SOLVED]

Ok, I managed to find a working solution...

As Kenny suggested, I used VLC to compensate for the lag. I had to adjust the "Advance of Audio over Video" to -2s and the lagging disappeared.

I used Airfoil to test. The app itself is free. You can download a trail application that runs on your PC. After 10min you have to enter a key, other wise it mixes in noise with the audio.

The licences aren't cheap...

A cheaper option may to try WiFi2HiFi, which is $3.99.
