I'm having trouble purchasing once-off data bundles with an MTN pre-paid SIM in a Huawei E620.

The procedure I am following is as follows:
Send:
Receive:
Please select data bundle type
1-Subscription bundles
2-Once-off bundles
Send:
At this point I expect to receive:
Please select data bundle size
1-10 MB (R10)
2-100 MB (R79.99)
3-350 MB (R168.99)
4-500 MB (R189)
5-1 GB (R289)
6-2 GB (R389)
But this menu is never received by the modem.

I have upgraded to firmware version 11.18.02.60.00 from MTN which enables USSD. If I put this SIM into mobile phone or a Huawei E220 it works fine.
Any suggestions, please?

I'm still having a problem with this. I tried a couple of other USSD menus on the E620 and *141*1# and *131# work just fine.

What could be different about the *141*6# menu?
MTN dudes, is there any way for me to get into contact with the people who develop the USSD system?

Insider kindly referred this to the developers at MTN and received the following reply:
when using an E620 unfortunately you cannot use the USSD feature. The upgrade that you did is for the E620 firmware which still does not allow for the USSD functionality. Only the latest modems (latest E220 included) are compatible with this feature, even if you try to upgrade to a new dashboard on your E620 this feature will not work.

I have since swapped the MTN SIM for a Vodacom one, and USSD works just fine on the E620. I am able to purchase bundles and check balances.

Thats such a classic MTN reply.

At work (WASP) we experience endless problems with the networks USSD servers. They have a habit to just disappear at times. It seems thats what is happening here.
