uTorrent alternatives

BitThief. Cause I'm a d*ck like that. Also technically I'm not doing anything illegal.

I've been seeding for you... :)

All publics. Probably do like 4TB of seeding a month just on public torrent sites....

I salute you sir, a noble gesture.

Back on topic, I've switched my bittorrent client over from Transmission to qbittorrent, I quite like the interface, transmission's webui was very basic...

That's a lot of pron jeepers. I thought everyone had moved to streaming it :D

Streaming it is not always buffer free even with a 100/100Mbps fibre line and I know my fibre provider is completely unshaped because when I hit 15TB data it's still going without any slowdowns. I will miss them if I have to move. Big ups to A360 Fibre.

Best still remains to download watch and delete for me. Maxes my line and no buffering issues.

^This^ and for the same reason.

I've actually started to like bitcomet more and more. I'm favoring it over qbitorrent atm.
Just added a torrent to bitcomet and although there is just like 5 seeders on the torrent look at the long term seeders from bitcomet..... Downloading @ 6MB/s where qbitorrent did like 200KB/s

Only thing really slowing me down is disk io.

How would using a different client affect the amount of seeders or quality thereof?

Well bitcomet has 2 features which IMO puts them way ahead of any other client.

if you take qbitorrent, utorrent, tixati, bittorrent, rtorrent, deluge ect ect they basically connect you to whatever peers are active and what peers the trackers or DHT network provides.

Bitcomet does exactly the same but also 2 extra features. Emule plugin and Long Term Seeding (LTS) for short.

Emule is basically emule-project.net incorporated into bitcomet so when you download a torrent it also connects you with peers from emule as long as the files shared on emule matches the on you are downloading.

LTS is basically all the peers that have parts or completed file of the torrent but the seeding/downloading is stopped in their client. So basically when you complete a download in bitcomet it seeds like normal torrent clients but once you stop them you only seed to bitcomet torrent clients and not to others so your ip is not being announced on the tracker.

This is very handy because usually upload bandwidth can get saturated in the swarm but since you no longer seeding to all and just bitcomet clients those downloading from you should get better speeds.

Very cool feature and probably adds like 6MB/s to each torrent I download on publics.

You can turn LTS seeding off but then you will not be able to connect to other LTS seeds when you download. You can however limit LTS seeding speeds if you wish.

Very nice. So from my screenshot above all those green LT Seed is from people that have the process stopped in bitcomet but seeding just to other bitcomet torrent clients.

Sorry very long explanation but here is a link if you wish to read.
