So I have been battling with the latest utorrent. Not sure why but max downloads on private trackers like 400KB/s when other torrent clients get fast speeds like 4.5MB/s.

So I did a quick test and ran a private torrent on the latest utorrent and got like max 350KB/s but once I uninstalled and installed uTorrent 1.6.6 the same torrent is doing 7.2MB/s

Appart from spending 10min or so just disabling the ads in the latest utorrent speed wise it's a nightmare.....

What do you guys get in the latest utorrent?

If you want to keep using uTorrent, V3.3.2 is the latest version that does not throttle download speed. Also has a few ads, but easily disabled...

Narrowed it down to being uTP that does not want to work so nicely. Disabled that and I'm getting excellent speeds both in qbitorrent and utorrent latest......

It does the job very good. Do you like cosmetics on your app or something that works?

I hear you point. Cool I'll download it tonight and test it out. Would be interesting as I'm yet to find a torrent client that can compete with my utorrent pro.

Speedwise on public torrent there is no better torrent client than Bitcomet that is signed in with cometid and the emule plugin activated.

You just can't beat the LTSP and Emule speed addon above the normal bt peers supplied by the tracker. You just can't. I get max download speed on public torrents with it. Problem is it's banned on private torrents that is why I'm looking for a torrent client I can use for both.

And those add ons you mentioned?

Also free.

Once you installed bitcomet you can create a cometid even with a fake address is fine too.
http://wiki.bitcomet.com/long-term_seeding

Long term seeds are basically people that pressed stop on a torrent or the torrent has reached it's ratio set by the user and has been stopped. Once it is stopped it still seeds to other bitcomet clients that are downloading the same torrent and is signed in.

You start at recruit which allows you to connect to a maximum 41 LTS (Long Term Seeds). Your score increases by uploading and by time spend sign into your comet id in bit comet but there is x amount of cap score you can earn a day.

Max level is Sovereign which allows a maximum of 102 LTS connections.

Very cool initiative even if the trackers are down you can still complete torrents just by the LTS downloads. You can also set limits on the LTS system which is cool.

The Emule plugin is a plugin that is basically the emule client running in the background and helps speed torrents up by seeing if there are people on emule that has it too and downloads it. http://www.emule-project.net/home/perl/general.cgi?l=1

So Why be limited to bt peers only when you can have all 3 in one client and all downloading toghether on 1 torrent.

Very cool. Been using Bitcomet for ages.

Then you can disable that option. There is a option or once the torrent is done just remove it from your task then it won't.

lol used 500GB last month and still full speed ahead until the last minute of the month except for p2p because I used up my 50gb fair use on p2p.

If I torrent on private torrent sites directly when I'm still in my 50GB p2p FUP then I get 7MB/s to 8.5MB/s download speed. :)

Would you say that I could be able to use Telkom LTE uncapped if I use 2 to 3tb a month on a 20mbps line? Should I try it or will they throttle speed? Would really like higher speeds of LTE. :)

Theoretically you should be able to achieve that easy. The real question is would Telkom accept that kind of usage over LTE. I use about 500 -600GB of data every month on it and there is no slow down at all. I honestly don't think they will allow you to use terabytes of data every month as the tower resources are shared so maybe but I don't think it will last if you do.

dejavu

pretty sure i created a thread about the same

outcome was me changing to qbitorrent and have not looked back since
utorrent became very dodgy with its installs, a lot of stuff you have to untick or becareful of when doing a fresh instal

Also doesnt utorrent install miners on your pc nowdays ? part of the t/c's IIRC.
