What settings can be optimised for qbittorrent?

I was getting slow speeds, tried changing port but now nothing... Not up/downloading at all

You first need to know if it is the torrent client or you ISP that is shaping you? In my case it was the utorrent client giving me a problem as Telkom LTE does not shape or throttle.

Maybe you should try unticking the uTP protocal and see what happens. If not then you can try bypass shaping by using VPN.

I use https://www.finchvpn.com and it only costs like R57 for the monthly package or R15 or so for 7days so you can test it.

I use them with openVPN which gives you so many ports and protocals to choose from to bypass shaping it's amazing considering how cheap it actually is and the amount of servers you can choose from.

Thanks cavedog, definitely going to try that out

It's not ISP specific, I've had uTorrent and Bittorrent installed prior to qbittorrent and both uTorrent and Bittorrent were working with pretty quick speeds

In the meantime what port or port range can I try? Forgot the one that was a default

Well some people would not agree with me but I like to use port 80 or 8080 just make sure it's forwarded in your router but port wise not going to make much difference.

No possibility of ISP watching / blocking those ports?

hey if you still getting slow speeds on qbitorrent make sure your upload is set to a minimum of 11kbps
anything less and you will get terrible speeds - and yes you can modify it to your liking under tools then options i think ...
