utTraceStar: analyse your iBurst connection

Seburn, thanks for the great software. When can we expect a new version with the updated towers.

with the updated towers.
iBurst was being secretive about the new tower numbers. I know that there were a handful of people trying to collect the data together but I'm not sure how complete it is. I have some of the number-name mappings.

A quick fix to solving the expiry issue, set your system date back to 2007 and use the software.

I will work this week on releasing the new version sorry about the expiry problem.

Another month ... any news on a new version?

What else are others using around?

Just set your computer clock back, run a test, take a screen shot, set computer clock to normal.
Worked for me, except i use a router, so couldnt /actually/ do a test

We have to roll back, aye; but doing so while keeping, for example, gmail open makes that app, as well as AVG crap themselves for certificates and update files now being 'out of date'. I find that it's better to roll back date (I just change back to 2007), start the app, then roll forward to now and carry on as normal.

Isnt closed source, proprietary software just wonderful?
Go OpenSource :P

But yes, anti virus software normally freaks out, so just set it back in windows and do test then immediately set it back to normal.

Or just connect manually, its not hard to interpret the info yourself ...

Telnet 192.168.250.10 on port 1234. BTW doesn't respond to ping.

Modem has no default gw, so connection must come from same subnet e.g. 192.168.250.X.

Also need to add (implicit) CR to LF in telnet client (e.g. putty) otherwise screen is a mess.

Once in, type [Enter], then rfScan (case sensitive), then debug 2 ....

3867691.740 rfScanGpp 1 Bscc 16 Cost -83 Distance 13 Load 2
3867691.740 rfScanGpp 1 Bscc 5 Cost -96 Distance 34 Load 2
3867691.740 rfScanGpp 1 Bscc 31 Cost -104 Distance 32 Load 0
3867691.740 rfScanGpp 1 Bscc 12 Cost -121 Distance 16 Load 0

When finished, debug 0 ,then just disconnect. BS with lowest cost is the one you're using.

That's all well and good but I WANT the graphical output, it's a far more useful form of the data for me.

Beta Expired

Hi, just downloaded utTraceStar and receive the message that the beta file has expired. Where can I get a running copy of this great tool?

Thanks

Ok, found the Backdate. Thanks

Are we to assume Seburn has disappeared? And there is no sign of a new utTraceStar on the way? :(

Closed source ... open source ... tomato source ... bbq source ... enough already! Sometimes people are like a dog with a bone!!

Different companies ... different people ... different business models. To be honest, if it was not for the closed source companies, there probably would not be open source. So we all need each other.

Interoperability ... that is where we all need to look :)
