utTraceStar: analyse your iBurst connection

I have released version 2.0.0

Which is a recovery of version 1.0.13 combined with 1.0.9 and converted to .net version 2.

Watch this space I will be adding new towers and making a new wizard using dot net version 2.

Other plans are also in the pipeline will keep you up to date

Either I was dreaming or microsoft removed support for the commands and libruaries that I was going to use for the new wizard.

Which has, to be honest, upset me deaply. I will change the wizard to have the three options again and will try to debug it as is, but unfortunately cannot try a new method as the best one available is in place.

I am working on a few other things which I think you guys will like :)

Another thing to note:

You can get net framework 3 as it is simply an extention of 2 (no app breaking changes)

Vista comes with this by default so anyone using vista need not download anything besides utTraceStar YAY!

Can someone tell me why when I run this application, it keeps telling me it wants to run the IP setup wizard? I have manually set up the IP and then run the Wizard as well. Every time I click start it asks to run the wizard again. Please can someone help?

Thanks
Running XP SP2 with Dotnet version 3. Running on Ethernet.

Hi please tell me what modem you are using

Please disable any firewall (nortons etc) and then try ... You will then be able to make a rule but its easier to disable first (you can do this while offline)

Please click start run and type telnet 192.168.250.10 1234 and report the results here.

Running UT Tracestar seems like a mission now.You have to download the software plus .Net 2 or 3 which is 30MB.Its much easier to use putty / telnet / hyperterminal

Hi Seburn, using the UTD original one, Mcafee, no firewall but i better check.
Mcafee is disabled. My IP address is 192.168.250.1 but still every time I try and start, it wants to configure IP. :( Wierd I cannot even telnet into it

You will find many other applications will use .net especially since the release of vista. This is a standard windows update.

But I do appologize for the inconvience, I had to update because the program did not work correctly in dot net 2 or 3. And many people had already started using those.

Unplug UTD from power restart pc then check?

Ping 192.168.250.1 to see if the ip is set correctly.

Hi all,

What is a decent reading on utTraceStar?

I'm getting -66 average? I believe that is good?

Thankz

yeah thats good...but also means nothing if your connecting to a heavily loaded tower

I am a laptop user with a usb modem (no network). Followed all the instructions to download utTraceStar. However, when I try to run it, all the fields just come up empty?

There is a bug with the app and some of the newer modems which will result in blank fields as you describe I will let you know when this has been resolved. Unfortunately I haven't had much time for the project which is half way complete to the next release.

Latest version v2.01 expired 31 Dec 2007. Seburn, any chance of an update (or just removal of expiry)?
