utTraceStar: analyse your iBurst connection

bigBob -- Your signal contary to the iburst meter is very poor keeping in mind that some ppl get -64db and most should get above -85.

My rating is exactly that my rating If they are to harsh I can change em but not going one just one persons view.

UnUnOctium ---

If using USB set the

start->programs->connect to->show all connections->under high speed /Lan connections -> iburst connection ->right click properties ->tcp/ip double click->use following address ip to 192.168.250.1 subnet to 255.255.255.0

If using Ethernet do the above but instead of the iburst connection choose the Local Area network (LAN) that you connected the UTD to

Seburn, I dont mind your ratings.. :)
I just want to say... at -97 -110 I get an average download speed of about 35-50KB/using DAP. ok ok ... it is not the 100KB/s as it is supposed to be but it is not "3/10 Terrible, get arial or give up"

If I had a choice I would be on ADSL.. but it is not avaliable in my townhouse complex, something about an optical line.. bla bla bla .. from Telkom..

Hi yip, you are right about the Telkom speed test, I only get about 35KB/s - 45KB/s there as well.
But i cant remember when last I had connection problems.. for about the last 2 months... I may have been disconnected twice or so that I can remember.

So yeah.. it is half of what I am supposed to be getting... but since I have no real choice (No ADSL, No Sentech) I am pretty happy with it...

Oh and I have the antenna already.

I was meaning 100Kbit/s =12KBytes/s I think you meaning 35KBytes/s=280Kbits/s

The thing is you are getting 35/128 and 45/128

=2.7/10 or 3.5/10 seems my rating is more accurate than I thought.

I put the comment in because some ppl will have to give up or get arial, but if you got the arial and there is nothing you can do and your happy Ignor the comment.

Can you think of a more appropriate comment to make ... I think I will be doing a ratings survey soon to see what ppl think.

Thx for your feedback it is appreciated

ppl with poor signal can build a relative easy antenna for free...
http://www.freeantennas.com/projects/template2/index.html
i didnt use this exact design but took me about 20mins to make. I had nothing to do and thought it would be interesting to see if it would work(I get 100% signal without antenna -71 to -76db with antenna -67 to -72db)

I think it would help alot more for people with weak signals.
If you poke around on the site you can get many more examples. Reflector size should be 120mm x 240mm. Pay close attention to where the focal point is placed as this can make a big difference. :D

[EDIT] thnx for pointing out the cm thing MrH :p

P0tenc, I guess you mean 120mm x 240mm, as if you meant cm then thats one mighty big reflector. :eek: :D

Just to clarify

This is what I meant.
My Telkom speed test results below.

Not the speeds that IBurst can do... but I have learnt to deal with it. This is actually a LITTLE better than normal for the 2nd of a month at peak time.

Results:

Below is the data used to calculate your download speed:

* Download time: 9.921 seconds
* Size of file: 500 KiloBytes
* Estimated line speed: 411.2 (kilobits/second)
* Estimated line speed: 50.4 (kiloBytes/second)

But enough about this, thanks for the tool and the work you put into it.
:D

Your site isn't FireFox compatible, and therefore probably doesn't support a lot of other browsers either ;).

To fix, move your a tags inside your column tags, like such:
<td class="menu" ONMOUSEOVER=" className='menuMouseOver';" ONMOUSEOUT="className='menu';" title="Home page"><a href="index.php">Home page</a></td>

Cheers

that sucks I just tryed for myself ... I wanted it to work like that
