Th3 Playa! land..
didn't upload to uunet for long,
but in my memory it doesn't need a pw.. right?
but anyways... what's the pw?
i want to upload..:D

Make sure you access ftp.uunet.co.za/pub/incoming - create your folder in there.

Please add link here if you're upping anything worthwhile ;)

You can only upload things and overwrite stuff, can't delete.

So don't upload anything personal or everyone will have access to it (if you share the URL)

If it does ask for a password it means you have more than one connection open to the server - and that aint allowed. Remember, only one connection.

Does filezilla open a new connection to do each transfer or what? It allows me to upload one file and refuses on the second wtf?

if i access to ftp.uunet.co.za/pub/incoming
then it says Host not found.
if i log into ftp.uunet.co.za it ask me for un and pw..

remember, you can only connect once at a time, that means, if you have any windows open AND you try connect on... it wont work!

You need a ftp program to upload files, set that program to allow only 1 connection at at a time.

I use FileZilla.

Filezilla sucks balls. Get CuteFTP if you can, it's the only one I know of that lets you delete remote files. And it's more versatile, has a better feature set, easier to use etc.

Define 'delete remote files'...Because I can do Exactly that using Firezilla on my FTP Server...

Your FTP server maybe, but the UUNET one? A few guys have been complaining that they weren't able to delete files from the UUNET server, only overwrite them. Personally I've had no such problem.

For those getting grief about password/multiple connections, CuteFTP works a lot better than filezilla. Something with filezilla is skrewed. Today I booted up the PC & modem, connected with filezilla straight away, got as far as the directory listing and then it bailed on the upload (multiple connections error). Closed Filezilla, installed CuteFTP and tada it works without errors.

Dir: HX not much there yet though.

How long does the stuff stay up?

so, the folders remain hidden.. ??

in the incoming folder my filezilla doesnt show any folders!?

thanx
