V

Watched two episodes of the 80's series it was good for the 80's but it's sh*t now. I enjoy the new series, it starts off slow but gets better as the series progresses.

Eskom better not have a Power Failiure tonight .... otherwise I'll blow up everything Eskom owns!!!

I don't think they're going to miss 2 pencils, a rubber band and a 2watt generator strong enough to run an LED for 7 seconds.

Well...I can only sum it up in this way.

The new V is worth watching....why...because the rest of the channels are screening old junk...
I've seen the original and sure...it is good...but my soul yearns for something new...so why not.

Its a great show :D

The original was great when you watched it in the 80`s... its so super lame when you watch it now.

+1 to this. The original is unwatchable now, lol @ the flying saucers.

To bad the new one got canned. What was the story with Tyler being "the one" anyway?

Edit: wait it isn't canceled. Heard somewhere it was. Hooray!

I liked last night's pilot, very good. Good thing I don't anything about the 80's version - looking forward to more of the same.

I wish I could recommend going back and watching the original once you've seen this series. I truly believe the story was much better.
Unfortunately, the acting, effects and camera work are so dated now the odds of you actually giving it a fair chance are minimal.

I'm afraid you're probably right. If there was a book I'd definitely give that a chance.

Well don't hold your breath, it might just get cancelled. So many of shows getting the boot. Heroes is gone, Reaper, Vampire diaries is hanging in the balance. So sad.

There is a book. Two of them, in fact. (Well, two that matter.)
I have both and they're brilliant.

The one is called "V" by A.C. Crispin which is the story of the original 10-part miniseries and the other is called "V: East Coast Crisis" also by A.C. Crispin and some other guy which is told along the same timeline but a different city.

I see there are other books but they don't follow the original story arc.

Watched the pilot last night and it was... erm, well, ok. Ok enough for me to want to watch the next episode. Is V going to be one episode a week now (i.e. every Wednesday @ 18:00)?
Just asking cause I don't actually follow any series on Dstv...
