v3g,

I know ic asked about a week ago if maybe we can get some Nokia representative to come have a look here. Any progress on this, or any feedback.

OT: I have had it with my 6680. After a software upgrade last week Friday, it was fine for a day, and all the crap started returning. :(

Thanks

Will follow up again.

In general, my 6680 (non-branded) is behaving very well. Needs a reboot once every two weeks but other than that, it's OK.

You're lucky!
My biggest issue is the bluetooth issue I have ... cannot copy/connect via bluetooth, the phone just doesn't respond. When I connect my bluetooth headset, sometimes, it changes the icon from * to (*), but the little headset icon never appears, so it is connected to the headset, but no info is passed between the two.

Eish, I don't know anymore!

My 6680 has been in for repair for the same problem, 4 times now.

I get the feeling with the repair centres, that all they do is a software upgrade and send it back. I have asked them how they manage to do a software upgrade 3 times in 2 weeks when the software hasnt changed, but all i get is they did a software upgrade

I complained of poor quality on my phone so they sent the phone to the advanced repair centre in JHB. It came back with a test report just to prove they didn't test it properly - how kind of them to let me know they had my phone for a week for nothing. It was neither tested on 1800 base station nor the half rate codec exactly the senario of the site I was making the calls on. No wonder they didn't find the problem!

I wouldn't complain though after taking it back 3 times you must just request a new phone stating they cannot fix the problem.

P.S If its a Nokia and the job card mentions resoldered dry joints they did nothing - its the standard when they don't know they just start soldering I guess.

Did they give you a loan phone for that period?

Yes, but I didn't take it. The Motorola C130 (I think that was the one) can't do GPRS and you have to sign a form saying the phone was worth R800 if I lost it (R299 on prepaid at Game at the time)

Spoke to Nokia and they're keen to get onto the forum. They need some time to sort out how, etc. but in the mean-time I offered to pass them any Nokia related queries via e-mail and feed back here.

Just a request: Can we try and keep the topics related to 3G and broadband?

I've already asked about the latest firmware for the 6680.
