hey all, just need to find out if these laptops are good value for money in this price range or if there are better options out there. Price range R8000 odd, will mainly be used for business work

option 1 -

Yeah its a good price, why not save R1.5k go for another HP4510s? Assuming you don't need built in HSDPA or an extra gig ram, which the Acer does not seem to have....

I would take Option 2 for the more RAM and Hard drive space, if its just for business.
 
I hope HP have adopted the hinges from the old 530 or the 550 entry-level series. The screen hinges on their recent business machine offerings are just crap. 4-5 business notebooks at the office and all the screens are dying. My wife has a 530 and it's mechanically faultless.
