I almost bought that one in 2003 for R20k but went for the 525i instead for R20k coz everyone was saying that a new 540i gets hammered hard.
That oke is smoked if he thinks he is gonna get almost half a bar for it

If it is was only a diesel :p
I have a soft spot for the 20 valve 1.8T motors, but a 1.9tdi would be a good safe bet as well.

It's a pity that petrol -> diesel swaps are not really economically feasible with these.
Properly good value even the small issues.
Mileage is a bit on the high side but honestly, what else can you buy nowadays with R45k? This one looks to be in good nick and with a mostly complete history it should be a good buy (and the 1.8T mill is quite reliable if you stay on top of routine maintenance and look after the convoluted vacuum system).
