A good deal IF you budget/plan for the following:

Cambelt service (these have 1x belt and 1x chain)
Oil pump replacement as they are known failure points (±R13k ex labour)
HPFP cam follower replacement every 50k km (±R500 ex labour)
N205/N75 solenoid replacement (±R3000 ex labour for both)
Diverter valve replacement (±R2000 ex labour)
Carbon cleaning every 50k km (±R4500)
PCV valve replacement (±R750 ex labour)

It is unfortunately an older car, so it would be wise to budget for these things accordingly. They are all known, well-documented issues/maintenance items on the EA113 motor.

Don't sound too bad my friend is 120k plug into g7 gti. Mechnatronics went and then piston. Need engine rebuilt now. 160k on the clock.

Old German cars can be troublesome. And then the engine rebuild will also probably be north of R50k.

Might be better off scrapping the car at that stage.
 
Just over 50k and you can tell your friends you drive a m4!
