Valve focussing on virtual reality

Team fortress ? How about half-life 3 confirmed
Since Overwatch, there is a new online market to capitalise. Esports is where the games financially boom, with Paragon, Lawbreakers, Gigantic, Battle Cry and Paladins on the horizon, Valve will need Team Fortress 3 or a new IP to compete with. Half-Life 3 is shelved for now... VR will add to differentiate the product.

I saw the title, and all I could think about was my beloved HL. I need to accept we will never get closure.

Overwatch? Don't you mean Dota 2?

Dota 2 and Valve are the two biggest driving forces behind eSports. Not Blizzard.

You are aware that DOTA had the largest ever price pool in the history of esports.

Star craft barely has any thing on LOL and dota

So? I was pointing out that Blizzard is not to be sneered at. Also "barely has anything" is a hell of a stretch, according to that site you posted it has ~67% of the prize money LOL has.

I don't take Blizzard seriously. The make OKish games. In the past, they were massive innovators. Not so much anymore. Dota is ftp, and is updated on a regular basis. Valve also gave players a platform on which to trade. They also put in millions of its own dollars to fund the development of eSports. Blizzard are not interested in developing eSports. If they were, they would have released a slimmed down version of Overwatch for free so it can become a competitive game.
