JOHANNESBURG – On 20 December 2007, The Independent Communications
Authority of South Africa (ICASA) issued a press statement outlining the criteria and/or
procedure to be followed in respect of converting a Value Added Network Service
(VANS) license, into an Individual Electronic Communications Network Service (ECNS)
license, as per the Ministerial Directive of 17 September 2007. Following further
stakeholder consultations, ICASA decided to hold public hearings on the VANS process
pursuant to Government Gazette No. 30438 and No. 30352.
The hearings will be held as per the following arrangements:
Date: 17 and 18 March 2008
Time: 09H00- 17H00
