Varsity Cup 2010

UJ has the biggest rugby budget yet play badly.I really feel bad for my Varsity hope they do better than last year.

Don't worry to much, they are second on the log now. But the competition still has a way to go.

TUT reminds me of my Cheetahs. Can't seem to play 80 minutes of rugby.

After having Tuks on the ropes they go on to lose 42-30.

What is the Maties - UJ score? Went to Gym and they are not televised.

Ok, it ended up 10-43 in Maties favour. The log looks almost as I thought it would, just Tukkies to low still.

Week Four, Monday, February 22
UCT v TUT Groote Schuur Rugby Fields 4.30pm (TV)
Maties v Shimlas Danie Craven Stadium 7.30pm
Pukke v UJ Fanie du Toit Stadium 6.30pm
Tuks v NMMU Tuks Rugby Stadium 6.30pm (TV)

Apart from the Maties vs Shimlas game, I am quite sure all the home teams will win today.

1 Maties 4 4 0 0 204 45 159 4 20
2 UCT 4 3 1 0 138 69 69 1 15
3 Tukkies 4 2 1 1 163 135 28 2 12
4 UJ 4 2 1 1 95 113 -18 2 12
5 Pukke 4 2 0 2 85 81 4 3 11
6 Shimlas 4 1 1 2 115 83 31 2 8
7 TUT 4 0 0 4 63 157 -94 1 1
8 NMMU 4 0 0 4 70 250 -180 0 0

The log is starting to look more and more like I thought it would be. I think the top 4 will be Maties, UCT Tuks Pukke

or maybe not, just saw UJ beat Pukke...

This is starting to look real onesided. It looks like Maties are playing all the strong teams at home.

One thing that is really strange for me is the amount of vodacom cup players maties fielded during the season thusfar! Yes, those players didn't play lastnight, but they played through most of the season which helped them to this position where they are now, because those players were available in the tougher games. I suppose that its just how it is, but considering that most of the maties team plays vodacom cup rugby its obvious that they will be way out infront on the log. The rest of the log looks more realistic since the other teams are more on the same level.

The only two unbeaten teams so far will have a show off. It will be good, luckily it will be televised.

Looking forward to UCT vs Stellenbosch. Going to be hot there tonight judging from today's heat!

UCT vs Stellenbosch is sold out! Will be watching this game tonight, nice to see it was moved to 20:30.
