Hey guys,

I'm need to replace my Fiesta's battery and looking for a Varta Blue Dynamic EFB 565 / D54 or whatever they are called now.
Anybody know of a place in Rivonia/Centurion that sells these? Usual suspects I phoned don't stock them.

 I'm off Willard now. and onto a Raylight. i have a family member who works for sabs and says the the first national battery factories are way better than powertech.

Thanks will give them a call.

The current one is also almost 7 years old :D

My fiesta battery was replaced at 8.5 years old. best car battery i've ever owned. this battery took abuse, constant dying due to not being used(car was barely driven, would sit for weeks at a time) but would still charge up, worked just fine as long as the car was in use. i only changed the battery cause it didn't hold charge for longer than 8 days without being driven.

I think battery life is determined by the vehicle. My original battery lasted 3.5 years. Replacement battery 3.5 years as well. I'm guessing my 2nd replacement's gonna last 3.5 years as well. Different batteries come with a warranty of between 12 and 36 months. I go for the one with the longest warranty available.

I've heard that Varta is the official WV and Audi battery only with a official agent's sticker on it and 5x the price.

AFAIK BMW and Land Rover batteries are also Varta.

I paid R6500 for a Discovery battery recently, long story, but I had to pay to retain the warranty on the vehicle.

I'm also looking to buy a Varta battery.

Let me know where you find the best deal on your battery.

TIA

Eina. Now the R2 800 I paid doesn't sound that bad.......

I remember contacting VW for a quote on a replacement battery a while back. Was quoted R4500 ex Vat. Then I found out from several people and online that Varta was the official supplier. I then made contact with a supplier locally and paid R1200 for the Varta with 24 month warranty.
The place I bought it from sold other brands like Willard as well and the guy that fitted the battery showed me why the Varta was a better option as the power ratings on the Varta was higher than on the other brands they had in stock.

Forgot to ask, but why to retain warranty?
