hi

any way to connect to the modem using VB ?

the reason i dont use the software is because sometimes i need to connect to the vpn, and to do that u need to add extra initialisation commands to the modem settings, and then leave it blank again when i want to connect to the net.

i created 2 connections, dialInternet and dialVPN in my net connections and before my program connects to either of them, it adds the extra initialisation strings to the modem in the registry.

it works fine on my pc, but on some machines it wont connect. my thinking is that its a microsoft dll problem

i just want to know if there is anyway i can get my program to dial using the mtn or huwei software and then my program can add the init strings itself?

vb6 comes with com port support in the form of a component Microsoft Comm Control, which means you can do anything you like with a modem on a com port. Only problem is that I have not used this for years.

Another thing the Huawei data card, he should tell it to use the dial up connection "MTN F@stLink" connection. This is created when the software is initially installed.
