VBS Mutual Bank being victimised - EFF

He sobbed in the dock as his wife’s affidavit was read.

In it, she painted a picture of a broken man who was often unwell physically and struggled emotionally.

Truter could not appear last month as he was under COVID-19 quarantine but now his wife said that he would be admitted for psychiatric treatment.

Just wait until he turns unreliable...

I take it they were waiting for him to appear in court before they can show his picture alongside the others?
There is some explanation given but it seems weak but problem is if he was shown and if he was shown as first, afriforum would have gone to hague crying racism and if he was shown last, blf would have had a hissy fit.

I wonder why is Deshnee being so coy about the details? why doesn't she come out explicitly and say it? It does look like the guy was not named because he hasn't yet appeared in court, for the same reason his image could not be shown.

Must say people just want attention and I see why Eusebius etc love each other. Anyways I am derailing now. Amazing how the rest don't want to plea guilty *grabs popcorn*

hahaha.. CFO got only 2 bar.. the rest made 17 bar plus... they done him in lol!!
Maybe the less connected you are the less money you got, there must have been some formula used to determine who gets what amount.
I heard he was a token CFO really, brought in because he probably looked good in suits etc..

Even those who are 'apparently' guilty, still have the right to challenge in the courts on procedural grounds:
On Tuesday, the court ruled that Motau's failure to afford Msiza the right to procedural fairness before he released the report on VBS, was unlawful, unconstitutional and violated his constitutional rights.

Edit: Full ruling:

That won't save them from prosecution or at least I hope the investigation doesn't rely solely on the report. In which case they have a case to answer.

There is a guilty and not guilty verdict, right? And till that is proven or otherwise, it is alleged. What is this 'apparently' guilty ? Objecting on procedural grounds is bread and butter for lawyers
