VDSL activation

Haha, but to be fair, I was on 4Mbps until yesterday so last night on the 15Mbps profile was fantastic. If that was what was on offer I’d be over the moon but better is still to come (hopefully)

My wife and I watched 2 hours of Masterchef on the BBC iPlayer without one buffer moment, while 2 kids were in two different rooms on their laptops gaming and chatting etc :)

How long before you accept for only 100 bucks more you get double the speed.

Yep, loving it so far even on the 15Mbps ADSL line.

Story is now that I need to call 10213 to 'switch' VDSL on becasue everything looks okay from tech support side. Of course, 10213 systems have been down for a couple of hours and are not back up as of 2 minutes ago.

I think so :) It is unlimited so I guess that's the name of it. They gave me a modem and a LIT box, think it's about 1k a month sub?

One thing the guy in the Telkom store said was the FUP was about 360gb a month, but looking about it seems on 20Mbps it is actually 1800gb a month. Any info on that Bwana?
 
Fscking fsckity fsck. Different person, different story every single time. Some woman even told me the line has dropped to 15Mbps becasue it's the end of the month :erm: Tried for 10 minutes telling me ADSL and VDSL are the same thing.

Waiting for some router expert to call now. I'm not holding my breath.
 
So having a cup of tea this morning in bed, checking phone etc, internet stops working.

I go to the router, the dsl light is flashing orange(VDSL signal). Then it’s solid orange, then it’s off again. 5 seconds of each.

Looks like VDSL is trying to activate but the router is not syncing. Phone Telkom, she tries resetting everything but no change, same cycle of off, flashing, solid, off etc. So they log a fault and now I wait for a technician to call or the thing to sync itself right.
 
I had the same issue, until the Telkom guy on mybb helped and changed the profile to VDSL.

Interesting. Any idea how/where that was done? 10210 are working today, but not 10213. I’m hoping technicians are still on call out and will phone me soon.

How did you get in touch with the Telkom guy?
 
It's working. I have no idea how but it has synced and VDSL is now active. Did a speedtest and getting seriously good results.

Ping 16, 18.8 down, 1.9 up.

Nice.

Your upload speeds seem a little low... but I personally wouldn't rock the boat about that until after the long weekend! ;)
