Hi folks
Need some info please. The people I have spoken to about this are giving conflicting views.
I currently have a 2mb ADSL line at home (the fastest connection allowed in my area). That is until recently, the Telkom ADSL checker site now says "VDSL (up to 2 Mbps)".
So I have noticed that my line speed has improved drastically. I used to get around 0.7 download speed, now at 1.95.
I have a couple of questions though
– Do I need to do something on my side to change from ADSL to VDSL?
– If so, will it benefit me at all? Seeing that the site states "(up to 2 Mbps)", looks like I am pretty much maxed out then?
– Am I reading this correctly: "VDSL (up to 2 Mbps)", meaning I cant get faster than 2Mbps. That seems kinda silly, why bother with VDSL if you limit me to 2Mbps
Any ideas advice will be greatly appreciated. Line rental through Telkom (2mb package), ISP is Crystal web (Home premium 2mb)
