VDSL: Newlands, Cape Town?

It's the same as them stating Durbanville, which by itself is a pretty big area.

Wish they would state specific areas inside the suburb.

Sorry if im highjacking, but id like to know the status of the MSAN deployment in my area also, Bromhof - Randburg. Or moreover where can one get the commissioning schedule or information on it? Moved house recently and was put to this exchange, even tho its 4km away and another just across the street. They are trying to stifle my calls with promises of a MSAN coming 'soon'. Cant handle this stupid 1Mb line that drops anymore.

Yeah, telkom have rolled a bunch of VDSL exchanges - they just havent flipped the switch yet. For example, somerset west is 40mbps VDSL enabled, but at the moment they're only giving max 10mbps.

i'm pretty sure this is what uncle rpm's monday article will state...
 
Does Newlands have an exchange? I'm in Newlands but I connect to the Rondebosch exchange.

Don't think so, Afrihost released their pricing a while ago. That article just basically compares all the packages out there.

If I read correctly on other threads, there will be a more detailed list of current areas that have VDSL or are getting soon.
