VDSL price drops?

Does anyone whether Vox limit you to using them only or are you able to make use of a different ISP account as well?

Those prices are extremely tempting, like... How can you say no!? I am not actually considering 40Mbit - don't think I will be able to sync at full 40Mbit but I'd be happy with 30Mbit even!

Yeah I know even if you get 30Mbps for the price they are selling it its totally worth it. They are like selling it at almost wholesale price. They clearly don't intend to make money out of the line rentals. I think they are hoping more people would buy their fatpipe accounts with these cheap fast lines.

I seriously doubt that they have control to say which ISP you must use. They might tell you you would need at least a data account with them to get the line but I don't think they will stop you from using another ISP.

Well I've got an account with them, happy to keep it and 40Mbit for R2.50 more than what I'm paying at the moment. I think it'll be worth moving my line over!

Still waiting for stock on a VDSL router, the I'll get the upgrade going. The Telkom tech said on VDSL I should be able to get over 30Mbit down. :D

So I just got my 20Mbit VDSL upgrade on Axxess on Saturday night and I'm suddenly R2.50 away from 40Mbit.

I'm going to give Axxess a month and then it's time to switch!

lol, yeah. That is why I decided to wait for the others to drop their pricing before deciding :)

I would also rather deal with Vox than Axxess.

Can't say I've had any real issues with them in the last 2 years with their customer service (Although I've just had a painful 3 days without internet while Telkom was upgrading me to VDSL).

On the network side it was not so great while I was still uncapped but since moving to a high cap account it's been perfect.

My ping is higher on their network, also occasionally I get packet loss on their network.

I try and avoid it, just use the free 1GB accounts at times of need.

Wow that line rental from Vox is tempting!

I'm currently with Afrihost and know that in order to move to Vox I will first have to move back to Telkom and then from Telkom to Vox. I'm worried that I will most likely be triple billed in this process. Does anyone know the best way to go about it?
