Vegan braai

Tastes really awful and normally results in [extreme] diarrhea, the latter 'cos the gut flora used to digest meat no longer exists in a vegetarian's stomache.

i actually get the same effect consuming heavy carbs, e.g. bread, after i've been strict banting for a couple of months.

I will not troll this thread. (Although I feel it's my duty to remind vegans, vegeterians, tree huggers, etc, about the REAL world we live in.)

Please come and rescue this poor primate from his cold office and feed him a steak, egg and plenty chips. :D

Sweet Potato in foiled directly on the coals... For the non-vegans, serve with butter.. For the vegans some kind of vegan "salad dressing" will suffice.

Also, for a South African vibe, get your hands on some Madumbi's

Please help urgently with suggestions on a "braai" for a Vegan.

I am supporting a charity for rescued primates and we assist wherever we can and I have arranged a braai for the carers and one is a Vegetarian and the other a Vegan.

Please assist with a dish I could do on a braai for them, the simpler the better.

These guy's/gal's are from Europe and I want them to experience a SA Braai as they do a lot for the rescues and it is much appreciated.

Thanks all

Edit will be on a Weber and half barrel braai on charcoal for ease.

There is so many things wrong with the title. :D

To cater for Vegans, I propose veggie sosaties (butternut, onions, pineapple, green peppers etc.), mielies and potatoes in foil (placed inbetween the coals). For the vegeterian, you can extend the same menu with Large mushrooms with feta and garlic, also in foil placed between the coals.

I was vegetarian for many decades but recently found that roasted green frog is a pretty good meal (Ignore the usual disgust from people, it's quite understandable). Seperate the head and score the two webbed legs and drizzle with some butter, then lightly braai it.
Getting some good frogs can be a problem though - I source mine from the local river.

what about cats ?

what about cats ?

Yeah cats can be done as well but there would be a HUGE outrage from people since for some reason they can eat some animals and "love" other animals. I make no distinctions. Bit messy though and you have to take out all the small bits of fur otherwise you'll be spitting hairballs all day after the braai.

vegans eat stuff that naturally fall from place of origin right?

Just say the goat, where the milk for the halloumi came from, was lactating....

Frutarians only eat food that has already fallen off the tree. You must not harm the plant in any way,

Vegans just exclude any kind of meat product, also anything that might have hurt animals. So for example honey is a point of contention as it comes from bees, but they don't need it, however badgers need it so we hurt them by taking it.

Vegetarians don't eat meat but most will eat eggs and dairy, so its the chilled out version of a vegan. Vegetarians generally don't like meat and have never liked it, vegans are usually converts and often like meat but choose not to consume for "moral" reasons.

And Vegans are as bad as CrossFit junkies...
