Rather pay a bit more and have an insurance company that will be there for you when you need them. I recommend going with Santam through a broker such as Aon.
age group 26-30

only driver
Just got a call from Hollard regarding their "pay as you drive" and quoted R400 for 500KM per month. Still have to contact the broker.
I had a tracker installed with outsurance. Forgot about that. Hope it doesn't mean I'm stuck with them.
we have never had issues with them ....and they are good
Also never had issues with Santam,
Only reason I've moved is I got a better premium with another underwriter with a broker who actually KNOWS my name and I'm not purely a number to him.
Used to fork out R1000 a month for my R100 000 car. I was insured by Miway. I cancelled the insurance and I now only have third party, fire and theft coverage. The R350 for that is still too high.
Any brokers around the Pretoria area?
What is Santam's claim process like? It seems as though many people are happy with them. From experiences of some friends and family, they seemed to be quite a bit slower (or at least slower than Outsurance, in my experience). I have been with Outsurance for ages now, but they are getting very expensive. Even tried to get them to come down a bit, based on reduced risk (now working from home, much more secure parking etc.) and they just plainly said that there is no chance.
Going to have a sit-down with a buddy of mine though to do a complete overhaul of a few things - insurance being one of them.
I wrote off my 1st car after 2 months of being with Santam. They paid out in full.
Aren't you still paying your car off? Firstly isnt this illegal and secondly are you mal?Used to fork out R1000 a month for my R100 000 car. I was insured by Miway. I cancelled the insurance and I now only have third party, fire and theft coverage. The R350 for that is still too high.

Doesn't cover accidents.Isn't that the same as comprehensive cover? R350 sounds very good for a 100k car.
